What is the BlazeBlock HydroDome system?
HydroDome / BZB-360 is a 360° water spray ramp designed to create a protective barrier around and above homes and roofs to slow or stop the spread of outdoor fires (forest fires, brush fires, field fires, flying embers...).
Is this system self-sufficient?
No. It requires a water source (pool, mains, cistern, well...) and a pump to reach the ideal pressure. Activation is either manual or via your own automation system (e.g. solenoid valve).
How does the system work?
Each spray bar is equipped with 3 high-pressure nozzles, projecting water over a distance of 5 to 15 meters each.
It is installed on the roof ridge, and connected to a water source (pump, network or reservoir).
In the event of risk, it is manually activated from the pump to water the area to be protected, and potentially prevent your house from catching fire in your absence, as long as water is available.
About our products
Does installation require a professional?
Installation is designed to be quick and easy (approx. 20 minutes). It doesn't necessarily require drilling (fastening by sliding under tiles or high-strength adhesive). However, for installation at height, we recommend a professional or experienced person if you are afraid of heights.
Can I install it myself?
Yes, an illustrated manual is included. The ramp is easy to attach to roofs, sheds etc... Depending on your configuration.
🛠️ Installation
What type of roof can it be installed on?
The HydroDome ramp is compatible with the vast majority of roofs: tiles (flat or mechanical), corrugated sheets, bitumen, slates or flat roofs.
The kit includes different types of adaptable brackets (sliding hooks under tiles without drilling, adjustable brackets, screw fasteners or high-resistance adhesives) to suit all configurations, without damaging the roofing.
An installation guide is included in the kit.
What type of water source should I use?
It can be connected to :
A booster or multi-stage pump (recommended),
An external tap (if powerful enough),
A cistern or swimming pool with a pump as above.
What flow rate is required?
The system requires a flow rate of 1500 to 4500 liters per hour, depending on the number of booms and the chosen configuration.
The recommended pressure is between 6 and 7 bar (87 to 101PSI) to ensure optimum projection and uniform coverage.
For best performance, the use of a booster pump is strongly recommended, especially if the system is dependent on a water supply or domestic network with limited pressure.
How far does it throw the water?
Each nozzle can spray water from a distance of 5 to 15 meters, depending on supply pressure and installation (roof, height, angle).
With a stable pressure of around 6 to 7 bar(87 to 101PSI), maximum coverage is achieved, effectively encircling the house while moistening the roof and surrounding area to slow the spread of flames or embers.
💧 Technical performance
How long can it run?
As long as water is available and pressure is maintained, the system can operate continuously. No electronic or motorized parts are integrated.
For example, on the classic model with 3 nozzles, a 15 m3 pool can feed the ramp for almost 10 hours.
On the double model with 6 nozzles, a 15 m3 pool can feed the ramp for almost 5 hours.
Do we need to maintain the system?
Yes. It is recommended to :
Rinse nozzles after each use,
Check connections and tightness regularly,
Protect the boom from freezing and corrosive products.
What materials are used in the railing?
Ramp: high-strength stainless steel
Nozzles: brass + stainless steel
Gaskets: rubber
Fasteners: aluminium/stainless steel
🧼 Care & durability
Does the ramp replace the fire department?
No. It's a preventive protection system. It can prevent or slow down the progression of a fire, but does not replace evacuation or emergency response.
Is it effective against embers and hot winds?
Yes, the misting and water-barrier effect moistens the area to prevent embers from starting a secondary fire on your roof or surrounding area.
🔒 Safety & prevention
Can I activate it during a fire?
The ramp should be activated at the first warning or sign of danger, ideally 1 to 2 hours before the potential arrival of flames. This will help saturate the environment with moisture and preserve a sufficient supply of water if you are using a swimming pool or cistern.
⚠️ Do not attempt to handle it if the fire is already close.
In the event of an evacuation order, it is imperative to leave the premises immediately, but the ramp can remain in operation during your absence, offering continuous protection of your home as long as water is present.
When will the product be available?
The official launch and first deliveries are scheduled within 4 weeks of the public presentation on July 4, 2025.

🛡️ Warranty and customer service
Is the system patented?
Yes, BlazeBlock has registered 9 technical patents ( including France, USA, Australia, Spain, Germany etc... ) covering its 360° and rooftop diffusion system, nozzle configurations and non-invasive integration, and any reproduction is liable to prosecution.
Can I connect the system to a fire alarm or an AI?
Not natively, but the ramp can be connected to a solenoid valve or integrated into a home automation system if you have the skills or assistance required.
❓ Other frequently asked questions
Can I dismantle the ramp out of season?
Yes, the boom can be completely disassembled, and is designed for rapid disassembly without the need for complex tools. Each component (brackets, pipes, nozzles) can be removed, cleaned and stored in a compact manner.
Off-season storage is even recommended to extend the system's service life: this avoids prolonged exposure to weather, frost or limescale deposits.
Once disassembled, the boom can be stored in a dry area, then easily reinstalled for the next high-risk season.
